BJC Healthcare is a multi-state healthcare system of community and teaching hospitals, including Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. One of the largest nonprofit health care integrated delivery organizations in the country, BJC is committed to improving the health and well-being of the people and communities through leadership, education, innovation and excellence in medicine. Washington University Physicians partners with BJC through delivering inpatient care at multiple BJC facilities including its teaching hospitals and at numerous outpatient clinics and specialty care centers throughout Missouri and Southern Illinois. We also collaborate in the preparation of future medical professionals through the Graduate Medical Education Consortium, sponsoring more than 100 training programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the organization that accredits sponsoring institutions and training programs across the United States. There are approximately 60 additional subspecialty fellowship programs.
