Ella Scott serves as the Federal Relations Specialist in the Office of Government and Community Relations. Based in Washington, D.C., Ella is responsible for supporting the efficient operations of the DC office while contributing to WashU’s federal engagement and strategic initiatives.

Prior to this position, Ella was a Gephardt Institute St. Louis Fellow at the Migrant and Immigrant Community Action Project in St. Louis. In this role, she developed community engagement and advocacy events and researched conditions of detention across the St. Louis metro area. As a fellow, Ella received the St. Louis Impact Fund Extension Grant. 

Ella recently graduated from WashU with a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs with a major in French and a minor in Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies. From 2023-2026, Ella served in the undergraduate Student Union in various elected positions, additionally serving as the liaison to WashU’s Bear’s Caucus. Her leadership was awarded the Shepley Outstanding Senior Award, the Ripple Social Justice Award, and the Student Union Leadership Award.
